The Steering Groups include a representative from the 3 sub-sectors of the Creative-Digital industry, Skills and Education. The Steering Group changes every year from February onwards, and we encourage anyone interested in being part of the Steering Group to contact us and declare your interest in January.
In 2022, the Steering Group included fair representation across counties and sectors. Their ideas, enthusiasm and passion have been invaluable in moving the network forward.

Projects
We endeavour to support industry in many ways, this includes supporting the supply chain. The Reginal Skills Partnership have identified the Digital sector as being one of its target industries with many of our members have raised concerns about the skills gap across North Wales. Therefore, Creative North have developed projects to support the supply chain.
The Skills Academy was a roaring success! Its aim was to support new entrants into the sector. This included graduates, those changing career paths and people who want to upskill. The Academy gave the members a regular wage and the valuable opportunity to work with industry experts for up to 6 months. The goal was of course to give the Creative-Digital industry what it needed; new entrants with the passion to learn and shape the future of the sector.
Again, thinking about the long term supply chain, we have been taking Creative North with our fantastic members to inspire and promote careers in the sector by visiting schools and events.
Our Ambitions
Our long-term goal to create a sustainable and innovative Creative-Digital industry in North Wales.
We hope to celebrate the wealth of skills, knowledge, experience, and expertise to ensure our place on the world stage.
We aim to support the Creative-Digital sector in North Wales by creating a network of like- minded companies, freelancers, and potential new entrants.
In doing so, we aim to put North Wales on the Creative-Digital map with Creative North being the one stop shop to support the industry, sourcing specialists, creating innovative opportunities and collaborations, inspiring the next generation of practitioners through workshops and events.
We aim to create an inclusive and supportive network. By having an open-door policy where our members feel they are valued and have a voice. We aim to demonstrate that the Creative-Digital sector has a place for everyone. To demonstrate this, members are encouraged to share good practice and celebrate success.
Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, Dawn Bowden said:
“The North Wales creative scene is growing rapidly, and I am delighted that we can support the network and help to develop its reach over the next few years.
“I look forward to seeing the network continue to work and engage with the creative sectors – bringing people with expertise together, giving a voice to a diverse range of talent, and helping to secure a successful future for our creative industries in the region.”
